i am trying to install RHEL v4.0 on windows based hp dx2255 pc and unable to do after few screans it showing the following message

Hello all,
i am trying to install RHEL v4.0 on windows based hp dx2255 pc and unable to do after few screans it showing the following message
" unable to find any devices of the type needed for this insatallation type. Would you like to mannally select your driver or use a driver disk?"
as i think it asking for STAT drive and hp doesn't support linux for this model ....
could any one please help me how to go further....

Yes, it sounds like it's looking for SATA drivers.
I think RHEL 4 had limited SATA support, but it was problematic at best for most users from what I've read. You'd have better luck with a later version of RHEL (or CentOS), or if you were to install a PATA drive. You could also check your BIOS settings to see if there an option there to allow you to use the SATA drive in a PATA mode.
Maybe someone else can provide a better solution for you.oz
