I am trying to switch form the 2.6.27.8 to the 2.6.28.6 kernel on an asus u5f
laotop.

I compile correctly the image and the modules. When rebooting I get the
error:

432 cannot open dev/console

I think it is related to the SATA disk, but I could not find a solution.
The distributio I use is debian testing.
