i tried to install Ubuntu (i think some old version..5..) and fedora core 5 on my compaq CQ60 - 104TU...
in both cases the installation failed on 3rd step... indicating ...

How to install Linux on CQ60 - 104TU
i tried to install Ubuntu (i think some old version..5..) and fedora core 5 on my compaq CQ60 - 104TU...
in both cases the installation failed on 3rd step... indicating that CD-ROM driver not found...
should i try installing fedora core 10?

Fedora Core 10
Debian Lenny
Ubuntu 8.10
Mepis 8
Linux Mint 6
Open Suse 11.1

but, i am not able to get the newer versions of linux...
i had installed xp in my lap and got internet...
but, now there's some prob in hard-disk....
once, i get it done... i will download fedora core 10....

The site was down for me when I tried to edit my post. I read in Ubuntu forums where Ubuntu 8.10 worked right out of the box with no terminal action needed for wireless or display for your model of computer. Just thought I would pass that on to you.
