    I thought all operating systems (not just Linux) released new versions and updates, so I guess I'm not understanding the question.

    not the other OS..
    just to focus only on linux OS because I had familiar with windows OS

    I personally like new releases and upgrades/updates because they often provide security fixes, bug fixes, and additional features.

    Why linux OS always came with newer version and updates?

    What support does linux OS distros normally give to their users?

    Linux and Windows have similar functions(for example Internet Explorer-Mozilla Firefox).
    What are the similarities/differences between these software?

    Why do we need to use virtual simulation software such as VirtualPC, VirtualBox and VMWare to install linux?

    Because the open source community is dynamic,worldwide, cutting edge, and improvements are thought of and implemented at a blistering rate.

    What support does linux OS distros normally give to their users?
    Depends on the distro? Rolling releases are cutting edge.
    Redhat and Opensuse and Mandriva offer paid support if you wish it.
    Forums are great support bases and are no where near like a Windows forum in friendliness and graciousness in offering their time and skills in helping the general community. We are like our own Biker Gang, propping each other up and encouraging new looky lous who are on the outside looking in but are starting to get the courage to become one of us. Inside Looking out.

    Their names are different and costs. but all are same annoying.

    Straight away search on google, you can many articles on comparisons.
    Microsoft says WS 2008 is 45 times faster than WS 2003. X_X. lol
