    i have made a linux boot floppy that has the bare minimum network drivers and iptables. i want make a partiton on my hard drive that can boot the data that was on the boot disk.
    how would i go about doing this?

    Create a partition on the hard drive, copy the files (keep the same directory structure) from your floppy on the new partition and adjust your boot loader to start the kernel and give the kernel the new partition as is root device. Let us know if you need more detail.
