    installation problems


    I'm trying to install 64-bit Ubuntu on my Vaio VGN-FW170J
    4GB ram
    320GB memory
    windows xp

    when I boot Ubuntu from the cd, no matter what i choose i get the "error reading bootable cd" message
    help?

    It seems like its a bad image on the cd. I hear that ImgBurn may be the best program for burning ISO files on Windows, because it can be set to burn slowly with error checking. It is free from the website.

    I agree with Hal343 IMAGE BURN should burn the Iso Ok. You should also do a MD5SUM check on your downloaded ISO for data integrity.
