How do you install a printer in linux? I have a lexmark x85 (all in one printer) and I'm thinking that the drivers for these kind of printers are not released in linux.

there are instructions on my guide on how to configure a printer.

dolda is right though, you need to check for it at linuxprinting.org to see if it supported. You can also check the printer configuration in linux to see if it is on the list. If you are using red hat for example, you can plug it in before booting up and see if kudzu recognizes it.

Yes, Redhat was actuall smart with using kudzu during the boot process (actually, is it should be init services?). Regardless, I should not have even thought that a new printer like this would have drivers in linux. Just out of curiosity, how often do new drivers for printers come out?
