Can someone talk me through the process of installing a Canon ImageClass MF4370dn multifunction printer/copier/fax as a network-addressable scanning device in Linux? I have installed SANE, I have downloaded and installed the SANE backends including a backend that is supposed to be appropriate to this printer. But nowhere can I find a description of how one takes a network (IP-addressed) scanner and associates it to a port that the SANE system will recognize. The MF4370dn works fine as a printer and scanner with my many Windows boxes - and it works fine as a printer in Linux. But I can find no information on how to hook it up as a scanner. The articles I've read on SANE installations talk about enabling networking for a Scanner attached to a local computer via USB and made available on the network - but this printer has its own network interface. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA
