Ubantu

Having more problems installing ubantu after entering password a redish screen pops up and freezes after that I can still move the mouse arrow but nothing else happens no desktop icons or anything.

You need to give a lot more info for folks to be able to help.

What version of Ubuntu? What are you computer's specs? What kind of graphics card do you have? (It's likely this is a graphics card issue.)

If you hit CTRL+ALT+F1 does it drop you to a console? Can you log in from there? Can you post the output of

What, specifically, were these other problems?

How are you trying to install Ubuntu. Wubi install inside windows, using a Live CD or an installation CD?, where did you get the CD? (assuming you are using one) did you order one from Ubuntu, download it, borrow it?

Are you trying to install the most recent version of Ubuntu?

At what point are you entering a password? Is this a password for a user you created during the install?
