Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Alexandria, Lousiana Posts: 17	Ubantu Having more problems installing ubantu after entering password a redish screen pops up and freezes after that I can still move the mouse arrow but nothing else happens no desktop icons or anything. Thank u Linux newbie

What kind of graphics card do you have? (It's likely this is a graphics card issue.) If you hit CTRL+ALT+F1 does it drop you to a console? Can you log in from there? What, specifically, were these other problems?

How are you trying to install Ubuntu. Wubi install inside windows, using a Live CD or an installation CD?, where did you get the CD? (assuming you are using one) did you order one from Ubuntu, download it, borrow it?

Are you trying to install the most recent version of Ubuntu?

At what point are you entering a password? Is this a password for a user you created during the install?
