dd: write ext3 image over ext4 partition
I have openSUSE 11.0 installed on an ext3 formatted partition. I made partition image using dd tool.
Then I installed Fedora 11 on the same partition, but in ext4 formatted file system. This was just to try it out.
Can I, again using dd tool, restore openSUSE image on the ext4 partition?
For creating/restoring partition images I'm using gparted-live CD. I’m afraid it does not support ext4 file system.
Is there a danger that such a restore operation will damage other partitions on the disk?Fedora 13, GNOME
