Hai to all . I downloaded openoffice.org-2.3.0-6.11.el5.src.rpm when i try to install it it shows that there are no packages but it is up to 250 mb.. plz help me...

    You've got the source files - that's the 'src' in the filename. Try downloading the rpm without the src.
    And openoffice is now version 3.1 so if you go to the official openoffice.org site you can get the latest version.
