grub hanging after fresh install mint helena
Hi all
Bit new to linux but what i saw with gloria in my opinion was a better os than windows.
Just done a fresh install with helena on my sata drive and a dual boot with xp pro which is on my on my ide drive my problem is on boot I get to grub loading then boot hangs for 5 minutes before the dual boot screen appears and when it does I can not move up or down to select any options eventually however helena does start.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks Macone

If you are using a USB keyboard, make sure 'Legacy USB' is enabled in the BIOS to fix the keyboard at the grub screen problem.
The pause during boot could also be BIOS issue. Check the Drive config in the BIOS. Try it as 'Legacy IDE', AHCI, Enhanced SATA, etc depending on what options your BIOS has. AHCI is best for Linux even if BIOS says Vista Only, but XP may not like it. You may have to experiment to find the best setting for both OSes.

Its USB problem only. Toggle Legacy USB Support in BIOS.
Which Graphics Card do you have?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

If you don't select anything in GRUB Menu, which OS boot up? Do Keyboard and mouse work fine after booting up OS?

It means problem is during Boot Loader input only. Check BIOS again for anything related to USB Support. I will look into Epox 4PDA2's manual too.
