installation make-3.81 and autoconf

hi ,

am trying to install make-3.81, i taped ./configure , every thing ok but when i taped make , it asks to install autoconf, the installation steps are the same, i taped "./configure", when i taped "make" it asks gnu make, so what can i do ?!
i found document wich says that if the system didnt accept "make" we can use " sh build.sh" instead, the compliation works, the document says also that after this we can use "./make install" to complet the installation, i did it, but again, it asks autoconf.
