I re-read the document from www.tldp.org and I'm pretty confident that an image needs to be made when creating a data cd. Since there is only ONE image file in that scenario, I guess TAO or DAO really wouldn't matter. Since cdrecord uses TAO only, I guess that'll have to do for now. Still, cdrda0 is needed for DA0 and copying one to one audio cd.
