Hello and Welcome
Open a terminal window in SuSe and issue this command please, and post your results here.
This will tell us what chipset it has and therefore which driver you need, if any.Code:lspci -nn
Go ahead and post the output of these too.
Code:lsmod
Code:ifconfig

If you are still having problems with this, here is what I see.
You have two identical network cards:
They use the igb driver, which is loading:Code:1:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82575EB Gigabit Network Connection [8086:10a7] (rev 02) 01:00.1 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82575EB Gigabit Network Connection [8086:10a7] (rev 02)
And it does seem to have a network connection, on both cards:Code:Size Used by igb 89604 0
You do seem to be connected to a network, as your cards have IP addresses assigned to them. If your problem is that you cannot connect to the internet, then I would guess that you need to configure the cards.Code:eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:15:17:B0:B5:4C inet addr:192.168.50.250 Bcast:192.168.50.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:1822 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:22 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:130611 (127.5 Kb) TX bytes:4110 (4.0 Kb) Memory:b1a20000-b1a40000 eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:15:17:B0:B5:4D inet addr:192.168.50.250 Bcast:192.168.50.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:2843 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:33 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:192843 (188.3 Kb) TX bytes:5152 (5.0 Kb) Memory:b1a00000-b1a20000
You need to run YaST, and go to the network configuration page. There you need to set a default gateway for each device. The default gateway is usually the IP address of the router that has internet access. Afterwards, you may need to reboot.
Hope this helps.Paul

I just noticed something, both cards have the exact same IP address! I don't think that this is possible using DHCP. Did you manually configure the IP address?
You may want to change this.Paul

Yes i already did it the configuration on YAST i manually configure it. the eth0 and eth1. i also try to configure it in defferent IP. but still i cannot ping another PC in the network..
I can't understand why? since i am a newbie in linux...thanks waterhead...... more help plsssssss....

Use DHCP to assign the IP address. If you need to have a specific IP address, have the router assign it. And do you really need two network cards? Remove one of them to help simplify things.
Like I already said, you need to tell it where the router is. This is done by putting the router's IP address in the "default gateway" section.Paul

i need to configure it with static ip because i used it for a server. the two network card is built-in in intel modular server MFSYS25. i need to connect to this server throught IP address but i connot ping the server. i tried to configure the ip add. by this command; ifconfig eth0 192.168.50.250
then i can ping the other PC in my network but when i restart the server it will return to old problem witch i cannot ping again..
