    Linux Installation failure

    Hello All...

i am a new member here i like linux i used to install it successfully and use it on a pentium 2 machine (red hat 7.0 - 8.0) but i have a new PC

    MB --- Intel 865 Perl
    CPU --- P4 2.8 Ghz
    HDD --- 80 GGb 7200 RPM
    Display Card --- 128 Mb
    RAM --- DDR 512 Mb
    Linux Versions (7.1, 7.2, 8.0)

i couldn't install it on this machine, some guys told me that this happens due to my hardware

any recommendations with linux versions that will work well on my PC?
    please advise

    thank you all

Just get a modern distro, and it should be fine. You may still need to work out some bugs, but you can't expect old versions like that to run well on a new machine.
