Lookin for old or new GNU itself.

Is there still a unix installer for GNU itself? There used to be. I can't find a new or old one but have installed GNU onto the BeOS approximately around 1999. I want to install it on HAIKU and am sure it will work. Remember, old or new. Just need a lead.

What exactly do you mean? GNU is an operating system.
Do you want to install some of the GNU binutils, like these
    BeBits - gnu-binutils
Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.

Will installing these libraries allow me to use most GNU applications. One of the application I want to use is GIMP. Is binuntils the enabling factor, usually?

To use GIMP you will also need (at least) X windows and GTK, as far as I understand your question.

I found yesterday in HAIKU itself HAIKU is already is a GNU Operating System but was not 100% sure. I just found that there is a HAIKU/BeOS binary for GIMP and was not the only notation of GNU in HAIKU already. Here is the link.

There are also binary's for GTK and X Window

Thank all of you. Have not installed them yet. Am procrastinating.

Well, in this regard GNU/Linux isn't less GNU than Haiku. Although the userland of a typical Linux distribution will normally contain non-GNU components, too, you are free to drop those and stay with GNU-only tools.

Nevertheless, I may be misunderstanding you.
