Linux Firewall Question

Hi.

I have a home network and was considering installed a Linux firewall such as Smoothwall or IPCop. What are the pros and cons of installing a Linux firewall over having firewalls installed on the computers like Norton Firewall?

why don't you just try something like iptables
it's builtin to the kernel so everything is "integrated" if you will
the builtin linux firewalls are very customizable and easy to use (very powerful)

you can also use the "authconfig" command to select the level of security in your system. there you can specify the ports you want to listen to and stuff.(it's nothing but iptables simplified!)

Yeh use ipcop its got a new interface and is easy to congiure just use the web interface!!
