ibook 1.2 G4 + Mandrake 10.1 + Newb= Puzzled Newb

OK, i have oneof the new ibooks, all fancy schmancy with the 1.2 ghz and all, and i really really wanna get linux running on a small partition i have going....i wipe my drive clean and partition it,i download the disk images for the PPC 10.1 Mandrake and imount and burn the cds....i was under the impression that i would just have to try and boot off the cd to begin installation. Either i am wrong (please inform me if so) or i didnt do something right with burning the disks because this certainly isnt happening...ihave already invested much time in figuring out how to get nowhere, and im not giving up anytime soon so if someone could be kind enough to point this newb in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated...i want to learn everything, but i gotta start with the dumb questions to get anywhere.

Did you burn the CD's as ISO? It won't boot otherwise;
