Yes, please provide more info.
The ffb3f777-9c57-45fb-a351-e02e84936f1b string appears to be a UUID. My guess is that the bootloader (GRUB) for whatever reason has been configured with the wrong identifier for your friends root partition.

He said wubi installer and in a laptop. Sorry, I don't know yet the specs and if it is a live cd or usb.
