No Hard Drive Panic!
ok quick question i have a netbook gateway and i seem to have ripped the cord that connects the hardrive to the computer and i was wondering if i can install linux netbook edition on a usb drive and have the netbook boot off of that would it work and if so how?

My advice for a temporary fix would be to burn the .iso to a small USB drive, get a large SD card, and install to that. Once the .iso is on a USB drive and you can boot from it, installing to an SD card is easy, exactly the same as installing to an internal drive. The SD card can stay in the slot full time, and doesn't stick out, so it's almost exactly like running from an internal HD, although a little slower.
