WUBI Ubuntu 10.10 problem with Windows Boot Manager
Hi
I've had an issue with installing Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook.
The installation appeared to be successful but the the Ubuntu entry failed to be added to Windows Boot Manager.
The wubildr.mbr file was in c:\ (with reasonable modified date so I added the entry manually by using the following bcdedit commands
bcdedit /create /d "Ubuntu" /application bootsector
Using the unique ID returned above then ran
bcdedit /set {id} device boot
bcdedit /set {id} path \wubildr.mbr
bcdedit /displayorder {id} /addlast
then running bcdedit again got
Real-mode Boot Sector
---------------------
identifier {c27d4f15-991d-11de-8797-00235a07d497}
device boot
path \wubidr.mbr
description Ubuntu
After rebooting I tried the Ubuntu boot entry and got an error
"The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt"
Is there a way to validate\recreate the .mbr ?
Thanks
Sean
