    No Screens Found

    Hi,
When i try to install BT4 R2 it works initially, but when i try to install the Nvidia drivers it says it has sucessfully installed, but when running startx the error
    'no screens found' appears.

I am using a GTX 480 and a 9500GT with two monitors on each card.

Is there any reason why this is happening?
The GTX 480 is over a year old now so believe drivers must exsist for it for Linux.
I pressume the apt-get install nvidia-driver commands brings the same files than going to the Nvidia site and downloading them directly?

    Thanks.

Another user had already tried what i did and his results are the same, listed below.

    Code:
    After running
    Code:

    "fix-vesa"

    and
    Code:

    "startx"

    it returns:
(EE) Failed to load module "type1" (module does not exist, 0)
    (EE) No devices detected.

    Fatal server error:
    no screens found
    giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

    And after running
    Code:

    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

    it returns:
    Primary device is not PCI
    (EE) No devices deteced.

    Fatal server error:
    no screens found
    giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
    However when i run
    Code:
    nvidia-xconfig --enable-all-gpus
This enables me to get in startx and run four monitors.
I have to run this everytime i boot or it wont work. Plus i cant configure the monitors into the correct positions, It seems to 'link' the monitors to each graphics card so they have to be next to each other, a dotted box appears around the monitors installed to the same card.

    But that problem is secondary.
