    There is nothing like knowing your way around linux commands. They are very usefull as when having to fix something, install, find out about opened aplications, find files and directories, etc. I find it quite important and usefull, actually the best thing when i was a total newbie using linux. It comes in very handy.

    If you aren't familiar with http://www.google.com now, you should take some time to learn its ins and outs... It is your most valuable resource when looking for information about linux and other related topics. They even have a special Linux-only search at http://www.google.com/linux
