Linux from Floppy
I just got a "new" Dell (Pentium1, 8mb RAM, floppy), and it has no CDROM
I would love to install Gentoo, seeing as it has Win95 right now
I was wondering if there was a way to install from the floppy drive (all I want is a working Linux kernel with networking support)
I have looked for a few online, and they do not work (Loadlin, Rescue Floppy)
Thanks

I'm not sure if you can get Gentoo on floppy, but you can get puppy linux on floppy; see http://www.goosee.com/puppy/floppy-puppy.htm.
Otherwise install a cd drive on your computer;

This puppy thing needs to be installed on a computer with a cdrom drive, linux, and a floppy drive
I only have these 3 computers:
1. CDROM, Floppy, Windows
2. CDROM, Linux
3. Floppy, Windows
Linux will not go onto computer #1, and the floppy from #1 cannot go into #2 (because #2 is a laptop)
Also, I cannot put those on because they need 64mb of RAM, and I only have 8mb RAM
Does anyone know if there is a downloadable floppy image for this
unfortuneatly, a CDROM is not an option, seeing as it is locked (with a key, so the case will not come off)
Does anyone know how to get this open / get a key for it, or something???
All of this is making me crazy!
