can't load linux or ubantu on an XP machine
I have a computer from work with win xp on it. I used this computer to burn a cd and installed linux mint 10 on my older compac laptop that had win 2K on it. I burned a ubantu disk and tried to load it on the xp machine and it failed. I then took the same disk that I installed mint 10 on the compac and it wouldn't load on the xp machine. I noticed that when I burned the cd on the xp mach the first time, it had errors until I slowed the burn speed to 1x. I burned the ubantu disk at the same speed (1x) and neither would load on the xp machine. Please help!! thanks in advance.

Hello and Welcome!

When you say that 'it failed', what do you mean?
Could you provide any other details?
Any error messages at all?
Have you made sure that your BIOS is set for your DVD drive as the first boot device?Jay
