Boot Puppy from USB-stick on mac.

I got a USB-stick with linux Puppy on, and i would like to boot it on my mac. When i boot my mac and hold down the option key on startup i can only choose Macintosh and not my USB-stick.
To get Puppy on my USB i used the guide for Ubuntu you can see here: ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download
I don't know if i should do something different with Puppy.

Did you follow the steps in the link provided by Roky?
Did you get any type of errors?

i didn't get any errors, but when i startup my computer i just can't choose my USB, only Macintosh. Btw my USB stick is only 250MB, but Puppy is only 120MG so it shouldn't be a problem, should it?
I think i can get a USB-stick with 1GB if that would be better.
