How do these two commands differ? Am I correct in my understanding that redhat-install-packages only installs packages while I can do a lot more with RPM such as uninstalling etc.

How do these two commands differ? Am I correct in my understanding that redhat-install-packages only installs packages while I can do a lot more with RPM such as uninstalling etc.

redhat-install-packages is merely a front-end for rpm.

yeah, if you always use rpms in red hat it is easier to keep track but sometimes the source files work better and give you better configurability.
