distro installed on ram via firewire
I have 2 mac's, both have dead dvd drives. I don't have a firewire dvd rom. The hdd on a macbook is also now dead.
Question is there a way to install a ram distro via firewire to the dead macbook? or run it via firewire on the macbook with the dead hdd and install it from there?
Thanks, virgin on site and fairly new to linux
Also recommendations on distros would be good, want it to be media streamer, web surfer, play roms and view pdf's also run to hdmi via a minidvi to hdmi cable, thanks again

If the system firmware interface supports booting from firewire, then no problem. If the system has a bootable USB port, that may be a better option.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

you can also PXE boot and install from network if the system supports that
