Install Linux on SD card and boot from usb sd reader

I know it is possible to install Linux on SD card.
But the problem is that my BIOS doesn't support to boot from SD card.
So, my question is - Is it possible to install Linux on SD card via SD port (like said before, yes it is), and then put this SD card in USB SD reader and then boot the system from this USB reader!?
My BIOS support booting from USB.

    Thanks for your answer!

My Acer Aspire One ZG5 works just like you described. I am able to boot and run Linux off of SD card via a usb adapter on it.

That is impressive, I didn't realize USB readers could do that - good to know.
