    booting problem

    Dear Linux Users


    I got into trouble while booting the RHEL5 linux machine.

    It shows error as

    Volumegroup00 is active
    mkrootdev: unexpected arguments
    cmd: 0x21c6232 end: 0x21c6231
    cmd: echo mounting root file system
    mount /sysroot
    echo setting up other file system
    setuproot
    echo switching to new root and running in it
    switch root
    mount: missing mount point
    setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or direcotry
    setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or direcotry
    setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or direcotry
    switchroot: mount failed: No such file or direcotry
    Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

    Please advise me.
