I want to install with dedicated swap hd
I tried to install mint with swap partition on seperate hd and /home partition on a seperate hd. I wasn't able to boot. i don't know if it is because there needs to be a swap partition on same hd as / or because the swap hd is slave to the / hd. I don't car if it's mint or ubuntu but i would like to iinstall dedicated hd for parttions. please help!

Hi and Welcome !
Could post your machine's specs? Why do you want to create SWAP partition on separate Hard disk? If you are a Desktop User and have more than 1GB RAM, you don't even need SWAP partition.
Anyways, there is no restriction for SWAP partition's location. Post the output of these commands :
Code:sudo fdisk -l cat /etc/fstab
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
