    msi u180 distro

    What Linux distro to choose for msi u180 netbook (4gb ram extended)?

    I have an MSI U210 running Mint Debian Edition with no problems ... the install is a while ago so the testing version of Debian at the time was squeeze.

    That's strange - maybe u210 features a different GPU. I've tried almost every distro possible and can't get it to work. On Ubuntu / U / L / X it's even worse than Mint because Mint at least gives me access to Terminal, while Ubuntus freeze right before loading DE.

    It could be GPU related. Any ideas?

    For Ubuntu a text based install and sort the graphics out after ... you could also check what drivers a live CD environment are using something like lspci -vnn
