SUSE 9.2 on VMWare 4.5, mounting problem, pls help!

Hi guys, I'm trying to instal SUSE 9.2 Pro on VMWare 4.5. Right after I start the installation there was the following error message

crc error
EXT2-fs: unable to read superblock
MINIX-fs: unable to read superblock
isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev+md0, iso_blknum=16, block=32
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(9,0)


The host is WinXP Pro with NTFS, bit the vmware should make a virtual emty drive.

I also made some free space on the hard with Partition Magic but but after boot still shows the same error!

What am I doing wrong and how can I resolve this?

I tried to install it normally but still does not work. I am installing it on a Gateway 200arc laptop.

seems like a problem with the filesystem you use for linux.partiton magik does not support reiser fs (supports ext2-ext3)..
