Linux Installation gives hard disk detection error
Please help!!
I tried to install different types of Linux versions. like red hat 9 ,suse 9.1,
fedora core 3. At the installation screen all gave error: "NO hard disk detected. Please check your hardware".
My PC cong. is P4 2.4 Gz,80 Gb Seagate HD, 512 Mb RAM.
I found at the initial stages of installation (when the black screen popes up and displays the installation being loaded in memory) it detetcts my hard disk and the serial number. Then why is it so that at partitioning phase this silly error is produced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What cable is it on? first or second? and is it master or slave?
I do take it that the hard drive is detected and works on another OS, and its all plugged in correctly?
