IMHO slack is the best distro .. definitly not as cake as mandrake or RH, but man is it fun

run "liloconfig" and choose simple and choose to install at mbr and you're fine..

yeah sorry i guys i jst ended up giving up cause it was on my computer that i was messing with distros on and now i have decide to make it my webserver and i have mandrake 8.1 and it is working exactly the way i want it to. but thanks for all the help. if i get another computer i will try installing slack again. i hear really good things about it. thanks again

Does somebody have a bootdisk available for download for Slack9.0 .. when i start up LILO get to "L" then 99 99 99 99 99 so the LILO screen looks like
"L99 99 99 99 99 99 99" for about 100 times.

how would i go about finding out if i installed KDE on my slackware box. i dont like the windows manager it gave me. i was sure i installed it. but it wasnt a choice for default windows manager. and how file wouuld i set up to make KDE my default well thanks

run xwmconfig and it will give you a nice easy menu based app to set your default

ok new problem. i have slack up and running almost perfectly. (im so proud of myself

) but i cant get it to boot with out the floppy. everything in lilo.conf is correct i think. when i start up the computer the word Grub pops on the screen and it sits there i dont get y that should be there. can someone help
