Hello all,
I performed a clean install of my entire SSD about a week ago.
I had windows 10 and Kali Linux dual booting off of that disk.

I reinstalled Windows and set it aside on a partition of my disk. Satisfied with my Windows installation I went to partition and install Linux in the remaining space.
I connected my second disk for the first time since the clean install and I noticed that I had saved a backup of my Linux system onto that disk and not realized it was there.

I would like to restore this backup to my main disk and am wondering how best I could accomplish that.
The initial backup was made using rsync command.
I have seen Clonezilla mentioned often but I haven't found it stated if I am to install the system first off the USB so that the grub boot-loader can install with it, or if I could simply copy my backup over and manually install grub.
I have made an attempt to install grub hoping it would pick up on the backup on sdb3 but I receive an error stating that it cannot install into the OS file due to a corrupted file on my usb.
I am attempting a graphic install from a live usb created with Rufus.

During the first attempt to install I have installed LVM to SDA5 and SDA6 and have created an LVM group and volume. I have not installed the system or copied any other data over to either SDA5 or SDA6.
The backup that I would like to use is on SDB3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
