I can't figure how to boot hda5-laptop has no floppy drive.
I did not, and do not want to, change MBR--put it on hda5 also.
My boss would kill me if he saw LILO come up on company laptop.
Any one has any suggestions.
Can I use Knoppix or SystemRescueCd to boot hda5.

Should I be able to boot it with SUSE distribution disk?

just use a boot cd rather than a boot floppy, boot to grub or lilo and then boot to your hda5
Operating System: GNU Emacs
