Mandrake install
i tried installing a downloaded mandrake 9.1 on a dfi(ad77) motherboard with an AMD 3000+ proc and it would lock up at a certain point right at the start of the installation. I did successfully install it on an intel system. Is the mandrake os not compatible with the dfi hardware?

AMD says every linux works with it. DFI does not say anything and as far as mandrake, i can't figure out how to ask their support. I have successfully installed red hat 9.0 on it but am wondering why mandrake does not install. Is there an older version of mandrake that does work with it? Any help answering this question would be greatly appreciated.

when you try to install, try disconnecting all unneeded devices before hand, including joysticks, printers, digital cameras, scanners etc.
Could be something there mandy doesnt handle correctly.
