i cannot install mandrake v 7 when it boots from cd rom it give a disc mount error and then says that it shoudnt happen i am restarting...any suggetions i have 2 hd of 20 gb and 80 gb

Hi,
It is possible that you have too much RAM. Mandrake 8.1 (Or 8.2) onwards support RAM in excess of 128 MB. It is possible that such an old software cannot address your hard drives and is restarting.
My suggestion is to get a newer distro either via download or from your local computer fair.
