Complete Lynum newbie here.

I have installed Fendora 3 on my Advent 7039, all working but probems with the wireless card.

So i have decided to install Mandrake 10.2 beta, but when i try to install i get an error

kernel panic - not syncing : VFS Unable to mout root fs on unkown -block(9,0)

I am assuming its detecting Fedora and wont overright it, if this is the case how do i format the drive?

I have tryed using windows xp disc to format it but the system hangs before i get to the options.

The system is working fine (execpt wireless problem) so i cant see it being a harddrive problem.
