I really need some help
I am tryng to install fedora core 1 on a PentuimII 450 Mhz, 128 Mb Ram, ATI Rage video card 8 mb, and after I boot from cd-rom and tryng to enter linux setup I get a message wich sound like
" error 2 reading header : cpio : bad magic " and repeats himself 6 times.
ANybady has any ideea why is this happening ??

My 2 cents..
This was the the only post that I could dig up on that error message.
Linux for Non-Geeks by Rickford Grant lists the requirements for FC1 as follows:
Pentium II , 400 MHz or above for a graphic mode system
About 3 GB of hard disk space though having at least 10GB would better
RAM, the official spec: minimum of 192MB, 256MB recommended.
The author comments here, "yeah right, if all you want to do is stare at your desktop" then he suggests at least
an additional 128MB. He suggests 256MB as the absolute minimum and recommends at least 384MB.

You're processor has a 100 mhz front side bus so i'd recommend adding a Pc100 256mb, 3.3v of sdram to the dimm socket.
