    Since the Caps and Scroll Lock LEDs aren't blinking, you aren't encountering a kernel panic, which is essentially the only software thing that can actually hang the entire system. As far as I can tell, that can mean nothing else than that your hardware is screwed up in some way. Since your NIC is PCI, it can't be because of I/O port scanning either.
    If anything, you can try to subscribe to the LKML at http://vger.kernel.org/. They might be able to make something out of it. I have no more clues.

    Also when I press network manager i get this
    eth0 has an alais to module tulip in modules.conf, insted of currently loaded module eepro100!

    I think that warning is harmless. Try running the commands "modprobe tulip" and "modprobe eepro100" as root and see if it hangs on any.

    Well I got it to work, I just installed RH9 and it fixed the problem
