Thanks very much I'm using Mandrake now and it looks great, can't wait to learn about Linix now.
From the link you gave me i found the following two links,
http://www.winischhofer.at/linuxsispart3.shtml#download
&
http://www.sis.com/support/support_faqs_16.htm
I upgraded # XFree86 4.3.0 (gcc 3.x) and SiS_SVGA driver
it didn't work at first on a reboot, but when i rerun my installation disk it recognised the graphic driver on minimum 800x600 256 colours. But on staring KDE I could change up to 32but colour and 1024 res.
I found the Linux commands a bit tricky at first but with patience and stubboness it now works.
Thanks a bunch
Steve
