    Did you check the md5 sum of the .iso file before burning it?
    There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and UNIX. We don't believe this to be a coincidence.

    No, because I didn't burn it. I bought the cd online from a company that sells linux cds.

    I tried to install Xandros OCE 3.01 over my existing Xandros OCE 2.0. I also got this "error 2000". The setup log ended like this:

    =========
    Setting up xandros-detect-xconfig (1.84-2) ...
    DEBWRAP::QANDA File (xandros-detect-xconfig) (1.84) (-2)
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    locales
    xandros-regionalsettings
    xandros-desktopwizard
    E:
    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
    ERRNO(5)
    ===========

    I don't believe it was a bad CD. I burned the .iso file onto two CDs using different burners. Using either one yielded the same result. Also, the .iso file came from a .zip file that had the correct MD5 checksum.

    I sent a message to Xandros tech support. Hope to get more info about this soon.
