Burning Mandrake CD
Hello People!
I have decided to install Mandrake Linux. I went to Distromania, and downloaded Madrake Linux 10.2 RP1 . It comes in a RAR file. So I use WinRAR to uncompress it. When I finish uncompressing the three files, I have millions of files... Which ones should I burn to a CD? Where is the Iso to burn??? PLEASE HELP...

LET ME RESTATE THE QUESTION in case you misunderstood
im sure all of you guys using linux can solve this and help me
well, this morning i decided to convert to linux from WIN XP. i went to distromania and downloaded the three cd's for Mandrake Linux 10.2 RP1. When they finished downloading, i noticed they were all in .RAR files. So i uncompressed them... There were lots of filess...
1. Did i do the right thing?
2. Should i just burn the whole .RAR file?
3. Where is the ISO?
4. What should i burn?
5. Im completely clueless.... Can you help me?

hi - welcome to the linux world.
mandrake 10.2 is a beta version - not yet released for general use. hence, as a first time user, you should avoid it . instead use the latesest stable version which is 10.1. choose the official version. you can download the iso from here:

the files are .iso files and can be burnt with usual cd burners without trouble.
you may also wish to try this distro - it is only one cd and the migration from windows to this distro is effortless and it seems to work out of the box and needs very little configuration.
