if your PC is newer than about 1998 then it should be able to boot from a CD.
when you first swich your PC on, hit F1 or Del to enter the computer's BIOS and check that you have set it to try booting from CD as the first boot device.

Otherwise, most Linux CDs contain a boot floppy image that you can write to a floppy to boot from it instead.

I used the floppy boot idea and I got the files here:
