    Problem with IP adress..


    Hi i wonder if its possible to change the IP adsess when you install version
    TopologiLinux 5.1.0
    I want to change the IP from 192.168.0.1 otherwise i get collision with my router...

    Something like (in a terminal, as root)
    Code:
    ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.2
    should work. You may have to fully qualify it:

    /sbin/ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.2

    Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the distro you're using (and hence I'm not familiar with the installer). Most distros give you a choice to configure your ethernet card's address/gateway, etc. either by dhcp (in which case you shouldn't get the same ip address as the router) or statically, in which case you could set it to whatever you wish.
