big display problems.
ok, so i just installed mandrake 9.1 because suse 8.2 was giving me 3d problems. during installation, mandrake auto detected both my video card and monitor (radeon 8500 and samsung syncmaster 955df respectively).
i choose my resolution to be 1280x1024x24bit, and when i go to test this configuration, i get a very small resolution where, if i move my mouse to the edge of the screen, the visible area scrolls over to reveal more of the desktop.
ive even tried to edit the XFree86Config file and disabled all other resolutions than 1280x1024, but all that did was give me even larger problems.
if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

You fixed the problem?
Would you mind sharing the solution since I have the same exact problem and it is rather annoying.
Thanks
