    Suse 8.1 and Dell Dimension

    Hello All

I just bought a Dell Dimension 2400. It came with XP Home and I wanted to dual boot with Suse 8.1. The install went fine, but my video settings were set to 16-bit and a resolution below 800x600. Also the computer came with integrated ethernet and Suse wasn't able to detect it (or configure it). Has anyone else had this problem.

I just got Linux installed and I am now searching the internet for solutions. Just thought I'd try here to see if anyone else has had this problem.

    Thanks

My computer came with onboard LAN, and nothing recognized it, but I'm pretty sure it's because mine was onboard Gigabit LAN. The first place I'd check is the dell website to look for drivers. If no luck there, try to find out who made the onboard parts and go to their website for drivers.
